When SilverStone launched its first Raven [Raven RV01], we were very excited, given the fact that this product finally solved the ages long multi-GPU issue. In fact, we’ll soon release a story about how RV01 saved our Skulltrail 3-Way SLI setup from overheating. But the company didn’t stop there. Seeing what can be improved on the first chassis, the company released a second model to the line-up, dubbed RV02.
Describing the changes between the two is quite easy? Raven RV02 loses around eight centimeters in width, 11 cm in height and 1.7cm in depth. Overall, we could call this case "mini-Raven". This also brought a significant weight reduction from the massive 15 kilos on Raven RV01.

You might have guessed it, but SilverStone didn’t launch the aluminum versions on RV01 and RV02, which we feel is a great shame. Both cases use standard SECC metal shell with reinforced plastic elements.
But the main part about this case is the fact that Raven series rotate the motherboard by 90 degrees, meaning all the hot exhaust from the CPU and graphics cards shoot out from the system. Our test showed that on a tri-SLI Skulltrail setup, the temperature reduction was measured in double digits (Celsius), the kind of drop that was usually brought only by water-cooling.
According to information provided to us by SilverStone representatives, the Raven RV02 will be available in North America and Asia during August, with deliveries in Europe at the beginning of September [if the cases are brought in by boats. Quick E-tailers that use planes will have them sooner, but you’ll pay a $50-100 premium is?].
All that we can advise to SilverStone is – bring in a higher end version using aluminum, and you’ll have a Mac killer
