Apple has lifted the rules that limited the use of promo codes to the US App Store only. Instead, the codes are now accepted in all App Store markets. Developers will admittedly love this change for it lets them promote their digital warez for iDevices in every country supported by the App Store.
The company has already informed its developers of the change in policy, Spanish publication Mackinando noted on Wednesday. Apple allows registered iOS developers to generate up to fifty promo codes for every approved application update. Users can then redeem the code in desktop iTunes or via the App Store client on the device and download paid apps free of charge.

Your promo code distribution is no longer limited to U.S. customers. Promo codes in iTunes Connect can now be redeemed by all App Store customers worldwide. Your Team Agent can request 50 codes per version of your app in iTunes Connect and your customers can redeem these codes in any App Store. Needles to say, developers have been using promo codes as a promotional vehicle in various giveaways and for review purposes for publications. The ability to redeem the codes in any App Store market is a much-needed boost that’ll facilitate more efficient app marketing and on a larger scale, too.
