Popular Swype virtual keyboard seen on some flagship Android phones is now available to everyone as the company opens up beta for a limited time. Go ahead, sign up and find out what all the fuss is about.
The virtual keyboard software has been in a closed beta over the last couple of months. Today, it’s available to anyone as the company that created it looks for more feedback before the final release hits the web. A brand new open beta is valid for a limited time, they warn, adding that new users are more than welcome to download the app that got the Android world go crazy.
Swype is a software that powers a unique method of touch input which debuted on some high-end Android phones earlier this year. In a nutshell, the patented Swype technology lets you input up to 40 words per minute with one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen keyboard.
You needn’t be very accurate as Swype enables very rapid text entry and the software takes care of ignoring errors and accidental input. Even though Android put Swype on the map, it’s platform-agnostic and works across a variety of devices like phones, tablets, game consoles, kiosks, televisions, virtual screens, and more.
