Regular flow of leaked images and information on upcoming devices marches on. Last week brought some photos of what is supposedly the next QWERTY slider of Motorola?s Droid line. First Xperia Z1 (Honami) press render also appeared out of the blue, together with numerous photos of the chassis/frame.
Couple photos of what is claimed to be Motorola?s Droid 5 got posted on Chinese microblogging site Weibo. Not much information is revealed, and the unit does look as if it has been through some serious testing. The slider has no capacitive buttons (it uses on-screen area instead), and it is dust/water/shock proof. Droid 5 also sports a wireless charging coil (visible in the middle image), NFC and is a Verizon 4G LTE variant. Screen sized is assumed to fit 4.3? to 4.5? range, and there is no info on innards whatsoever.
Meanwhile, ETrade Supply has posted images of what is reportedly the metal frame of the upcoming Sony Honami smartphone, which will apparently be unveiled as Xperia Z1 during the IFA show in Berlin in September. We wrote about the Honami some time ago, and practically the only thing that got changed, or rather ? corrected is the camera sensor size. Unlike the earlier report of the 20MP shooter being a 1/1.6? in size, according to the new rumor set it is more likely to be in a 1/2.3? format. Based on the rumors, the unit should be capable of recording a 4000×2000 video in 2:1 aspect ratio.
Press render of the Xperia Z1 leaked out as well, demonstrating three different case colors – black, white and purple. Specs wise, the 5-inch flagship should be carrying Qualcomm?s Snapdragon 800 SoC paired with 2GB of RAM. What we are looking here is likely the successor of the Xperia Z.
