Sites like Gamasutra are filled with hacks who write hilarious articles about all gamers being fat nerds in basement who are racist and sexist. This is pretty much why Intel pulled out and they have earned respect amongst gamers (unless they go back on their word and start advertising on this site again, then that would be a bad idea).

leigh alexander EIC of gamasutra who wrote one of the infamous “gamers are dead” articles also wrote a piece for the verge attacking intel

the verge is owned by vox who also own polygon (which put out a differently worded gamers are dead piece) and intel apparently sponsors them

so the head of a games site is both attacking consumers and sponsors
