Thanks for the tip, this helped a bit. I’m experiencing fewer, but still random seeming freezes/stutters (Google and 3rd Party apps) but strangest of all, I’ve lost the ability to delete files off microSD (worked fine before using ES File Manager).

I’ve noticed my Shield will start to stutter and lag after use, but clearing out recent apps that are RAM hogs seems to resolve it, so I think it’s a memory use issue.

I had luck on my shield tablet going to the about tablet screen in the settings and tapping the system updates tab and then tapping on the menu button and tapping clear update data. After that I had a definite speed boost. Worked great

I thought it was because lollypop encrypts all the data on your phone, and kitkat by default doesn’t. Only the 64 bit ARM chips can decrypt in hardware. That has massive hit on data access speeds.
