F2PP2W games work well in places like Russia and China where there are a lot of pirates and nobody gives a shit about consoles, so the only way to make profit from the gaming market there is to give them free games with paywalled items. In North America and some parts of Europe, where people are willing to pay US$500 + $60 per game + $60 per year just to play Halo, 343 Industries need not resort to such moneygrubbing.

Maybe 343i will refine things and such, but honestly this seems like an odd idea.

I’d just like them to focus wholly on Halo 5 and refining the Master Chief Collection (plus there’s the ODST HD remaster they promised)

The game might be fun in terms of dynamics and the way it plays, but having a pay-to-win structure is a terrible idea and freely caters to an un-level playing ground.

That, to me, destroys the very foundation Halo was built upon :P
