Mewtwo codes will be sent out on April 15th, and you’ll be able to buy the character on both Wii U and 3DS on April 28th.
Super Smash Bros. News
The Nintendo Direct kicks off with President Satoru Iwata giving a finalized release date on the highly anticipated Mewtwo DLC.
Users who purchased both Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS will receive their free code for the Mewtwo DLC on April 15th.
If you don’t own both flavors, Nintendo will let you buy Mewtwo as a standalone playable character starting April 28th priced at $3.99 for either version, or $4.99 for both versions.
Nintendo has heard your requests and has announced that Lucas, the main character from Earthbound 2 (Mother 3), will be joining the Super Smash Bros. roster as a playable character on Wii U and 3DS. Lucas was originally featured as a fighter in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Wii.
Based on the gameplay trailer that showed Lucas in action, he looks like a pretty formidable fighter that has a huge array of moves at his command. He’ll be a DLC character just like Mewtwo, and Nintendo plans to release him sometime in June.
New costumes are coming for customized Mii fighters that pretty much let you dress up as your favorite Nintendo icon. The costumes are priced at $0.75 each and add a nice bit of style to your personalized Smash fighter (especially the Majora’s Mask one!)
Vote For Future Smash Fighters!
Iwata confirms that Nintendo is listening to your feedback, and has opened up a special Super Smash Bros. fighter poll where you can vote on the new characters you’d like to see in the game.
The ballot is now live on the official Super Smash Bros. website and represents huge potential to add even more acclaim and excitement to the franchise. This is a fantastic move from Nintendo, and I can foresee tons of new fighters join the battle in the coming months.
