The PC-D666 does what no other enclosure in the market does, combining two systems within the same cabinet.

After showcasing the double wide PC-D666 at Computex earlier this year, Lian Li is now rolling out the behemoth enclosure to the masses. The differentiating factor with the PC-D666 is a unique dual system design that can accommodate two sets of hardware within the enclosure. Designed for IDG’s German edition of PC World (PC Welt), the PC-D666 is dubbed the “Hell Machine 6.”

One side of the PC-D666 is designed to hold a system geared at productivity, meaning users can install a E-ATX/ATX motherboard and other high-end hardware. The other section, which is designed to fit a gaming-oriented machine, can accommodate micro-ATX or mini-ITX motherboards.

There is a compartment that separates both portions, and users looking to show off their hardware can do so without any hassle as the PC-D666 features paneled windows on both sides of the chassis. The interior is coated with red on black, befitting the name of the enclosure.

Enthusiast system builders looking to go with a liquid cooled configuration will be able to fit in 480mm or 360mm radiators on the workhorse side, while the gaming section can fit a 360mm radiator.

For users looking to move cables between the two sections, Lian Li has provided 100mm space above the motherboard tray. Large grommeted cutouts and panels secured by thumbscrews allow for easy cable management. In terms of storage, six 3.5-inch hard drives can fit in the two removable cages within the chassis, as well as four 2.5-inch drives. The workhorse side can fit in an additional two 2.5-inch drives on the case floor.

Both sides feature four USB 3.0 ports as well as HD audio connectors. The PC-D666 is similar to Lian Li’s desk enclosures in that it can hold two systems within a single cabinet, although the design is more traditional. The price is also more palatable, with the chassis costing $599, whereas the desk enclosure starts at $999.
