Available in regular and silent editions, prices of the Carbide Series 100R mid-tower chassis start at just $49.

You son’t get the feeling that these cases were so affordable judging by their design and feature-set, which includes tool-free drive installation, dual USB 3.0 ports at the front, cable routing behind the motherboard tray and mounting holes for SSDs. There’s even a windowed side panel on offer that allows you to showcase the internal hardware of your rig.

The side panel is featured on the standard edition, whereas the silent version features foam panels that reduce the amount of noise emanating from the machine. The Carbide Series 100R accommodates ATX, micro-ATX, and mini-ITX motherboards as well as ATX power supplies. Two fans are included, and there are mounting holes through which you can install additional fans – two 120 mm at the top and two 140/120mm at the front – as needed.

The enclosure has seven expansion slots, two 5.25-inch drive bays and a HDD drive cage that can fit four 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives. Maximum video card length in the lower slots is 275mm, and cards 414mm can be installed in the top slots. CPU coolers 150mm in height can fit in the chassis with ease.

The Corsair Series 100R standard version is set to retail for $49, while the silent edition will set users back $59. With options at this price point few and far between, the Series 100R is ideal for gamers looking to buy a gaming chassis that offers a decent amount of features on a budget.

The O series will feature four models catered to different enthusiastic segments, with all models featuring a similar design aesthetic that includes oversized tempered glass windows.

The mini-ITX PC-O5, the mini-ITX PC-O5S, the micro-ATX PC-O6S, and the ATX PC-O7 all boast an aluminium construction and come with a similar feature-set. An included PCI riser card and extension allows users to install video cards parallel to the motherboard, a design choice that has been undertaken to ensure that the chassis retains its sleek design. The dedicated hard drive cage is hidden by an anodized aluminum shield, and users can also install drives directly onto the motherboard tray, or on a removable bracket behind the motherboard. All cases come with more than sufficient hard drive slots.

The PC-O5S, PC-O6S, and PC-O7S come with the ability to accommodate AIO liquid coolers, as denoted by the “S” at the end of their model numbers. The PC-O5S can accommodate radiators 240mm in size, while the 06S and 07S can fit in radiators 360mm in size.

Versatility is one of the key features of the O series, with Lian Li stating that these enclosures can be mounted on a wall, placed vertically on a desk using the included aluminum stand or arranged horizontally.

Lian Li has announced that the O series will be making its debut in the US in February, where the PC-O5 is set to retail for $289. The PC-O5S will set users back $319, and the PC-O6S will be available for $379. The PC-O7S is the costliest of the lot at $419.

NZXT continues its tradition of excellence in the enthusiast market with the H440.

One of the best mid-tower enclosures available in the market is getting a facelift today as NZXT announce the Razer edition of the H440. The special edition comes with a green on black design scheme and features Razer’s logo at the front and on the sides of the enclosure.

The USB ports, power button, LED underglow and the rear I/O LED lighting are now coated green to highlight the Razer branding. The side window is tinted, and the shroud that hides the power unit now features a Razer logo. There’s also a hexagonal mesh, and the exterior of the H440 now has a matte black paint finish.

Other features remain the same: the H440 comes with three 120mm fans at the front as standard, along with a single 140mm fan at the back. There are dust filters at the front and bottom of the chassis, and provision for fitting large radiators. The case can easily accommodate mini-ITX, micro-ATX and ATX motherboards, and can slot in video cards 294mm in length with the hard drive cage intact, and 406mm cards after removing the bay. CPU coolers 180mm can fit in the enclosure.

The Razer edition H440 is now available for $149, which is $30 more than what the standard version of the chassis costs. That is a premium for a few minor design tweaks, but then again, anything associated with the Razer brand has commanded a premium. And considering the strong userbase the brand has, it is likely that this version of the H440 will sell a lot. While this isn’t the first chassis associated with Razer, as the brand unveiled a modular platform at the start of the year. It looks like it may be a while before the brand can make Project Christine available to users, though. Until such time, there is the NZXT H440.
