How long have we been waiting for heists again? Rockstar affirms that the wait will be over soon. But we’ve heard that before haven’t we? How soon is “soon”?

Well how does two weeks sound?

The studio has finally pinpointed an exact date for Grand Theft Auto Online’s heists, which will be released on March 10, 2015 across all consoles.

Additionally Rockstar announces that Grand Theft Auto V‘s PC version will be available on April 14, 2015 across major retailers and as a digital download.

The devs cited that the PC flavor was delayed because “a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible,” and that they wanted to make sure that GTA Online‘s heist mode was ready before the PC release.

Meanwhile console gamers have been anxiously anticipating the mode for more than a year, and there’s been no official word on a release date–until now.

“Heists will bring a brand new 4-player cooperative gameplay experience to GTA Online, giving players the chance to team up to pull off a string of intense, multi-part raids and robberies across Los Santos and Blaine County.

“Over the next couple of weeks, we will have more information about the launch of Heists and about other new features that we will release with it.”

Heists will add in a major new framework to the definitive GTA Online experience specifically because they’re so dynamic. Basically the mode is a smattering of branching story-like missions where players have to work together to complete huge robberies and scores.

“Some missions have all players working as one unit, some require players to take on specific tasks like hacking or crowd control, while others require players to split into smaller teams to complete separate high value objectives.

“For example, one team may be stealing a getaway car from some gangsters while another team is attempting to sneak into a police station, all within the same prep mission.”
