Cloud computing firm laughs off Microsoft’s announcement of an announcement
Just as news from PDC 2008 are coming in, the companies are reacting. I’ve received word from Rodrigo from Zoho, a company that deals with cloud computing productivity. In his blurb, Rodrigo welcomed “Microsoft’s announced that they will be announcing a web-based version of Office suite”.
In his comments, Rodrigo welcomes Microsoft’s surrender and abandoning the FUD that the company’s reps were spreading around in regards to cloud computing and SaaS market.
Head of Zoho also laughed off “the dinosauric” business model of Office, and mentioned CAL licensing in more way than one. All in all, an interesting read, but we’ll see who will have the last laugh.
We’ll also see if Microsoft really names its web-based office suite “Microsoft Office Live 2010 Standard Web Edition”. You can read Rodrigo’s blurb here.
